Role: Lecturer (Level B) / Senior Lecturer (Level C), Electrical & Electronic Engineering
Type: Full-time, Continuing
Salary:

  • Level B: $115,303 – $136,925 p.a.

  • Level C: $141,247 – $162,872 p.a.

  • 17% Superannuation
    Location: Melbourne CBD Campus (with possible work at other campuses or offshore via FIFO)
    Closing Date: 1 December 2025, 11:59 pm


About the Role

RMIT University’s School of Engineering invites applications for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, contributing to world-leading teaching, research, and industry engagement that supports global transitions in electrification, automation, and digital transformation.

The position offers opportunities to teach and conduct research in areas such as:

  • Power grids, microgrids, and energy storage systems

  • Power electronics

  • High-voltage systems

  • Electrical machines and drives

  • Electrification technologies

You will deliver high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, contribute to curriculum innovation, conduct impactful research, supervise HDR students, and collaborate with industry to deliver practical and future-oriented education.


Key Responsibilities

At Lecturer Level (B):

  • Design and deliver engaging, student-focused teaching.

  • Conduct and publish independent and collaborative research.

  • Supervise HDR candidates and contribute to program coordination.

  • Engage with industry and professional partners to enhance applied research and learning relevance.

At Senior Lecturer Level (C):

  • Provide academic leadership in teaching and curriculum development.

  • Lead high-impact, externally funded research projects.

  • Mentor junior academics and HDR students.

  • Strengthen RMIT’s national and international partnerships.


About You

  • PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field.

  • Demonstrated research record (Level B) or national recognition (Level C).

  • Proven teaching excellence and ability to integrate industry-relevant innovations.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Commitment to inclusive, supportive academic culture.

  • (Level C) Evidence of research leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration.
