Position Overview

The researcher will join the DK-VET Consortium (Patologivagten), performing necropsies and diagnostics on wildlife, domestic animals, and zoo animals. The role combines diagnostic pathology, research, consultancy, and dissemination, with active participation in BSL2/BSL3 facilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Daily operations of Patologivagten, including necropsy, histopathology, diagnostics, and advising partners.

  • Research-based consultancy for livestock disease surveillance and control.

  • Conduct independent research projects in veterinary pathology; publish results in scientific journals.

  • Research-based teaching and dissemination, including popular science publications.

  • Train junior colleagues and share knowledge internally.

  • Participate in academic assessment committees and formal pedagogical training.


Qualifications

  • PhD in Veterinary Pathology with relevant publication record.

  • Experience in diagnostics of notifiable animal diseases, BSL2/BSL3 necropsy, and research-based public sector consultancy.

  • Preferably experienced with Scandinavian wildlife, companion animals, and livestock disease surveillance.

  • Strong communication, teamwork skills, and ability to work collaboratively with national veterinary authorities.

  • Languages: High proficiency in Danish and English.

  • Must hold Danish veterinary authorization.
