Mechanical and Electrical Engineer

Job Synopsis
The University of Limerick is seeking a skilled Mechanical & Electrical Services Engineer to join its Technical Services Division of the Buildings & Estates Department. This role is essential in ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and ongoing development of campus mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems.
Working within a live campus environment, the successful candidate will play a key role in the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) of critical building services while also providing technical support for both small and major capital projects. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and specialist contractors to ensure high standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency across the University's infrastructure.
The total number of staff in the Technical Services Division of the Buildings & Estates Department exceeds 30 full-time dedicated mechanical & electrical staff. This is supplemented by various administration staff within the department, by external consultants and external specialist contractors (fire alarm, lifts, etc.) As support for the Technical Services Engineer, the Mechanical and Electrical Engineer will play a role in directing/managing these resources.
The Mechanical and Electrical Services Engineer shall assist the Technical Services Engineer with ongoing work in the following areas, as assigned to them from time to time.

Salary Scale: €59,830 - €85,064 p.a.
