The project targets challenging conditions such as fog, rain, and night. As part of the MARISPEC project, the candidate will design machine learning techniques for multi-wavelength sensor data (infrared, visible, and night vision) to enhance detection accuracy. The candidate will collaborate closely with Xenics (camera technology) and DroneMatrix (drone integration), and participate in field testing to optimize the system for maritime surveillance applications. The role offers hands-on experience in AI, sensor fusion, and real-world drone applications. More information about our research group and the topic of the PhD can be found here: https://www.invilab.be/research/marispec
