Application WindowOpen date: November 20, 2024 Next review date: Monday, Dec 23, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Friday, Jan 31, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position descriptionThe UCI Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Samueli School of Engineering is seeking applicants for a Jr. Specialist position for Professor Michelle Digman’s lab to work on biophysical characterization of amyloid aggregates. The individual will execute laboratory experiments, analyze data, and assist in the preparation of manuscript for publication. Will also develop spectroscopic, immunological, and biochemical probes to detect, distinguish, and quantify oligomers and fibrils both in vitro and in vivo. Requirements: Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, physics or a related field. Experience in fluorescence microscopy and optics and a background in chemistry, physics, or a related field is preferred. Applicants should also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
