Develop computational tools, apply AI and machine learning approaches to identify novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets, contribute to competitive research funding applications, publish in high-impact journals, and collaborate with national and international research partners. Supervision and Researcher Development: Contribute to the supervision and mentoring of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students, support researcher development through coaching and feedback, foster a collaborative research culture, and assist in the effective management and development of research support staff where required. Citizenship and Service: Demonstrate leadership through collaboration and active participation in institute and university initiatives, contribute to committees and administrative activities, support colleagues and unit operations, build partnerships with industry, government and research stakeholders, and uphold UQ values through professional and inclusive engagement. About You Completion, or near completion, of a PhD in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Computational Biology, Immunology, or a related discipline. Demonstrated expertise in bioinformatics, statistical analysis, and computational methods for analysing complex biological datasets. Experience with single-cell and spatial omics technologies, including transcriptomics, metabolomics, or multi-omics data integration. Proficiency in programming languages and analytical tools such as R, Python, and machine learning frameworks. A strong track record of research outputs, including publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations. Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and project management skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary research teams. About You
