About the Position

Collaborate on the chemistry of the future. We are looking for a research assistant in automated peptide synthesis to support projects on developing large libraries of peptides and derivatives.

  • Work closely with PhD candidates and postdocs to operate the automated synthesis platform

  • Support ongoing projects

  • Be responsible for the organisation and execution of peptide synthesis

The diversity of molecules created in our laboratory often requires optimisation of synthesis and reprocessing protocols. You will develop and optimise these protocols and guide new students in practical aspects of solid-phase peptide synthesis.

  • Hands-on experience with solid-phase peptide synthesis

  • Enjoy collaboration and employ a structured and careful approach

  • Experience with routine chemical analyses, particularly HPLC-MS

  • An affinity for teaching and supervision

  • Good command of English, both orally and in writing

  • Temporary employment contract of one year, with the prospect of an indefinite contract

  • Salary within salary scale 8, depending on previous education and relevant work experience (based on a 38-hour working week)

  • 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus

  • Good pension plan

  • Plenty of room and responsibility to develop talents, with various training and development schemes
