Role Overview The postdoc will work on cardiac inflammation after myocardial infarction (MI), focusing on: Signalling pathways in cardiac-resident leucocytes post-MI. Using in vivo models, in vitro experiments, and multi-platform ‘omics’ approaches. Identifying novel targets to prevent progression to heart failure. Managing work packages and contributing to a multi-disciplinary team. Essential Criteria Expertise with primary cells and standard molecular biology techniques: DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, RT-PCR, cell culture, fractionation, flow cytometry, ELISA, functional assays. Understanding of study design, statistical analysis, and scientific integrity. Strong written and verbal communication, IT skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to manage research and administrative tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain organized lab records. Desirable Criteria Experience with bulk/single-cell RNA sequencing workflows. Hold a Home Office personal licence. Familiarity with genomics and bioinformatics workflows. Professional Development 10 days/year for professional development (pro-rata).
