The Computational Mechanisms of Psychopathology Lab (COMP Lab; PI: Vanessa Brown, PhD) is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to join the lab.

The lab investigates learning alterations in anxiety and related disorders using behavioral tasks (in-lab and remote), functional and structural imaging, computational modeling, and mechanistic interventions (brief psychotherapy, neuromodulation). The postdoctoral fellow will support research funded by a new NIH R01 on predictive and generative modeling of threat imminence to understand and manipulate avoidance behavior in anxiety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct experiments in behavioral and computational neuroscience.

  • Analyze data using advanced quantitative and statistical methods.

  • Present and publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

  • Apply for external funding and contribute to grant proposals.

  • Assist with training lab members and general lab management.

  • Collaborate with lab members and faculty on interdisciplinary projects.
