About StatUa & the Role

  • StatUa: Core facility supporting statistical and methodological research across the University of Antwerp. Provides statistical consultancy, training, and education for internal and external partners, including doctoral schools.

  • FLAMES: Inter-university initiative for methodological and statistical training for young researchers in Flanders.

Role Overview:

  • Deliver high-quality education in statistics for doctoral schools and Master programs, including data management, statistical software, and advanced methods.

  • Develop teaching materials, organize courses, and contribute to blended learning initiatives.

  • Co-organize the annual FLAMES Summer School and support methodological/statistical training across Flanders.

  • Provide statistical consultancy and support to researchers at the University of Antwerp.

  • Contribute to the development of StatUa and represent it internally and externally.


Candidate Profile

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Econometrics, or related field (PhD preferred).

  • Experienced in statistical consultancy and support.

  • Proficient in statistical software (SAS, SPSS, Stata, R, Python, Matlab, JMP, etc.).

  • Excellent teaching skills aligned with the University of Antwerp’s vision.

  • Broad expertise in statistical methods applicable across different research domains.

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Fluent in English (B2 minimum).
