Overview

The Rutgers School of Nursing invites applications for a faculty position jointly appointed with Rutgers’ Institute of Health (IFH). The position offers protected time and support during the early years of hire. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with scholarly achievements, including funded research, publication record, and other relevant professional experience.

Initial support for establishing a strong research program will be provided, with the expectation that research will increasingly be supported by extramural funds. The faculty member will become part of the Division of Nursing Science and will be based primarily at the Rutgers Institute of Health, adjacent to the School of Nursing in New Brunswick, NJ.

Extensive research resources are available for health policy and health services research, including:

  • National Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance datasets

  • EMR data

  • Collaboration opportunities with ongoing programs in behavioral health services, substance use disorder treatment, long-term care, treatment outcomes in large health systems, and health policy impacts on access, outcomes, and equity

Faculty will have opportunities to partner with major health systems in New Jersey to improve outcomes and build a learning health system.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • PhD in a relevant area of expertise or a program of research that aligns with the School’s educational mission and vision


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Sustained record of scholarly publications

  • Focused program of scholarship

  • Skill in grant writing, evidenced by securing extramural research support


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience collaborating on interdisciplinary research

  • Established record of leadership in academic or research programs
