Job Summary

This role is a full-time faculty position with Program Lead duties for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). In addition to teaching responsibilities, the Program Lead faculty assists in providing faculty-level leadership for academic programs or specialty areas as it relates to the curriculum. This is a faculty role rather than a leadership-only role.

Full-time faculty may have responsibilities in four areas: teaching, service, scholarship, and professional development. The amount of time spent in each area is determined annually, after discussion between the faculty member and their Chair, and may vary from year to year. Teaching is typically the primary assignment, with service, scholarship, and professional development activities comprising the remainder of the annual workload.

Teaching responsibilities may include both undergraduate and graduate courses. Course assignments consider credentials, program needs, course types, number of different preparations, and number of students served.

Service responsibilities typically include participation in and/or leadership roles in Purdue Global departmental or institution-wide governance committees. Other service examples include course lead, faculty mentoring, facilitating student-focused activities, evaluation of student portfolios, curriculum work, vacation relief for colleagues, and leadership in professional organizations.

Scholarship activities vary with individual faculty interests and may include developing solutions to academic and professional challenges, publishing articles related to research in the discipline, or presenting at academic or professional meetings.

Professional development (8 hours annually) is required for all faculty. Additional development activities may be considered part of the annual workload if approved by the Chair or requested by the faculty member.
