Department: Neurological Surgery DescriptionThe University of Chicago’s Department of Neurological is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank. This is an exciting opportunity to be a member the department as we welcome our Inaugural Chair, Mohamed Bydon, and develop a new Section of Neurovascular Surgery and that will contribute to our growing neurosurgical program. Appointees will provide clinical care in the inpatient and outpatient setting as an endovascular neurosurgeon, in addition to participating in open neurovascular surgery procedures and general neurosurgical care. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications. The University also has a robust Neuroscience Institute, which brings together more than 90 neuroscientists based in academic and clinical departments across the campus into a cohesive program. The Department of Neurological Surgery currently has 12 full-time attending neurosurgeons with plans to expand in the coming years.
