Overview

Applications are invited for a Lectureship (Above the Bar) post in the School of Medicine, specifically in the area of Sport and Exercise Medicine. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative lecturer in this area.

The successful candidate will:

  • Play a key role in teaching and supporting the MMEdSc in Sports & Exercise Medicine programme.

  • Be expected to assume the role of Programme Director.

  • Have a professional (clinical) qualification in Medicine and be eligible to register with the Irish Medical Council, the statutory body that registers and regulates Medical Doctors in Ireland.

  • Hold a relevant postgraduate qualification and have experience in clinical student education and classroom teaching and learning.

  • Be research active, supervise student research, and participate in department and college committees.

Reporting to the Head of the Department of Medicine, and working closely with the School of Medicine, applicants will demonstrate evidence of a commitment to excellence in teaching, curriculum development, and research in Sport and Exercise Medicine.

Salary

Appointment may be made on the Lecturer (Above the Bar) Salary Scale (pro rata):

  • Scale B: €79,185 - €102,549

  • Scale A: €75,338 - €97,420

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
