Position Overview

  • Teach part-time Swahili language courses, possibly online.
  • Emphasis on interactive, communicative teaching methods.
  • Design and maintain course Canvas site.
  • Grade assignments, prepare exams, hold office hours.
  • Respond promptly to students, colleagues, and supervisors.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent.
  • Native speaker of Swahili or superior proficiency (ACTFL standards).
  • Ability to teach Swahili curriculum.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in second language pedagogy/acquisition.
  • College-level Swahili teaching experience.
