Role and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach electrical and electronic engineering design and product development courses at undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels, covering topics such as:

    • Fundamental circuit design

    • Analog/digital electronics

    • Embedded systems

    • Power systems

    • Control systems

    • Prototyping and testing

  • Develop and deliver student-centered courses using active- and blended-learning pedagogies, emphasizing electronic circuit design, product innovation, and systems-level electrical engineering.

  • Engage in curricular development, integrating emerging trends in electrical engineering (e.g., renewable energy, microcontrollers/IoT, signal processing, AI-driven circuit/system optimization, sustainable energy systems).

  • Collaborate on interdisciplinary projects and research initiatives, contributing electrical engineering expertise to address complex technological and societal challenges.

  • Mentor and supervise students at all levels (Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral) in design projects and research, fostering innovation, hands-on learning, and industry relevance.

  • Drive outreach and partnerships with industry, funding agencies, and academic institutions to expand SUTD’s electrical engineering initiatives, secure research funding, and develop continuous learning programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or closely related field) with a proven record of teaching and/or research in areas such as circuit design, electronics, embedded systems, power systems, or signal processing.

  • Strong interest in teaching and advancing electrical/electronic product development, including hardware, systems integration, and emerging applications.

  • Ability to engage effectively with students, peers, and stakeholders both in-person and virtually.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • For Senior Lecturer appointments: prior teaching experience with preference for candidates familiar with blended or active learning pedagogies or engineering education research.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching in executive education or lifelong learning environments.

  • Ability to design and deliver short, medium, and semester-long courses across electrical and electronics topics.

  • Experience advising Doctoral, Master, and undergraduate students in electrical/electronic engineering.

  • Track record of publications in leading journals and conferences (e.g., IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems, IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, ISCAS, PEDS, ICECS, EPE, etc.).

Application Procedure

Applicants should submit the following materials:

  1. Statement of Interest / Cover Letter

  2. Teaching Statement and prior teaching experience

  3. Student Feedback, if available

  4. Research Statement (prior research achievements)

  5. Curriculum Vitae / Resume with publication list

  6. Sample of Published Works

  7. Contact information of three referees

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis starting October 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews.
