Position Summary

The Computer Information Systems (CIS) program within the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Florida Institute of Technology is seeking an Instructor to teach Electronic Commerce (CIS 3318) at the undergraduate level.

This fully online course is offered during Fall 1, Fall 2, Spring 1, Spring 2, and Summer terms. The course introduces students to the principles and practices of conducting business online, including web technologies, digital payment systems, cybersecurity, and the integration of business processes with internet-based platforms.


Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging online lectures and discussions on e-commerce concepts and applications.

  • Prepare course materials including syllabi, assignments, projects, and assessments.

  • Introduce students to practical tools and platforms for building and managing e-commerce systems.

  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and privacy standards in all course activities.

  • Evaluate student performance through exams, projects, and participation.

  • Provide timely feedback, academic support, and mentorship to students.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the CIS curriculum and align with program learning outcomes.


Qualifications

  • At least a Master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.

  • Demonstrated experience teaching in an online environment.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Commitment to high-quality, student-centered instruction.


Additional Information

  • Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly to the Office of Human Resources prior to the first day of employment.

  • International degrees must include a course-by-course evaluation and translation from a NACES-affiliated credential evaluation service.
