The NIHR King’s Clinical Research Facility (CRF) is a flagship centre for early translational and experimental medicine, offering state-of-the-art facilities:

  • Advanced EEG and neurophysiology suites

  • Immersive virtual-reality environments

  • Monitored clinical trial beds

  • 3T and Hyperfine MRI

The CRF bridges neuroscience, mental health, and clinical care, enabling studies on the brain, behaviour, and disease.


Role Overview

King’s College London seeks an experienced clinician–scientist of international standing to serve as Director of the CRF. The Director will:

  • Lead the CRF into its next phase of growth and ambition

  • Unite multidisciplinary teams to accelerate discovery and early-phase clinical studies

  • Shape strategy and operations for safe, effective delivery of complex studies

  • Build and sustain partnerships across academia, the NHS, industry, and NIHR infrastructure

  • Contribute to the IoPPN’s academic mission through research, education, and leadership


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary and collaborative leadership of the CRF

  • Align CRF strategy with KHP priorities and research pipelines

  • Ensure operational excellence and compliance in complex translational studies

  • Drive grant acquisition and high-impact research outputs

  • Support recruitment, mentoring, and development of multidisciplinary teams

  • Serve as ambassador for King’s translational research nationally and internationally


Candidate Profile

  • Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neurophysiology, Stroke Medicine

  • Neuroradiology, Neurorehabilitation, Neuropsychiatry

  • Related specialties with strong translational research experience

  • Strong publication record and grant acquisition experience

  • Strategic vision, operational acumen, and leadership ability

  • Ability to build collaborative networks and partnerships
