Executive Dean - Kemmy Business School


JOB SYNOPSIS

As a member of the University’s Executive Committee, the Executive Dean plays a key role in developing and implementing the University’s vision and strategy. The Executive Dean is expected to bring a creative and energetic approach to this strategic leadership role.

The Executive Dean is fully responsible for the leadership, governance and management of the faculty. They will also hold responsibility for a designated university-wide strategic initiative or portfolio.

The Executive Dean is accountable for the development and delivery of the academic programmes offered by the faculty and for staffing and resourcing these programmes to ensure their quality. The Executive Dean is also responsible for ensuring that the faculty produces high quality, impactful research which is delivered within the faculty and/or within any research institutes that is aligned with the overall UL research strategy.

The Executive Dean is responsible for ensuring appropriate use of resources on programmes, ensuring a return on investment by the University.

Period of Appointment: A five-year term with an opportunity to reapply for a second five-year term through open competition. A permanent appointment to a substantive post in the discipline area will be possible for the successful applicant.

Salary Scale: €144,298 - €182,426 p.a.
