Overview

The Yale Cancer Center (YCC) and the Department of Internal Medicine at Yale School of Medicine seek a nationally recognized, dynamic, and visionary leader to serve as Section Chief of Medical Oncology and Hematology and Deputy Director for Clinical Affairs at YCC. This role offers the opportunity to lead one of the largest sections within the Department of Medicine and to support clinical excellence, research innovation, and faculty development across multiple specialties and sites.


Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for the Section of Medical Oncology and Hematology, including faculty mentorship, career development, and academic advancement.

  • Serve as Deputy Director for Clinical Affairs at YCC, overseeing clinical operations, promoting integration across multiple specialties, and advancing clinical initiatives.

  • Promote and support research, including clinical investigation, translational research, laboratory studies, and health services research.

  • Engage in teaching and mentorship of learners across medical students, residents, fellows, and junior faculty.

  • Foster collaborations across Yale School of Medicine, YCC, and affiliated institutions.


Qualifications

Required:

  • MD, DO, MD/PhD, or equivalent clinical doctoral degree

  • Board certification/eligibility in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology

  • Significant experience as a clinical leader at an academic medical center

  • Outstanding record of scholarly accomplishment and national recognition

  • Demonstrated extramurally funded research experience

  • Commitment to education across a broad spectrum of learners

  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Connecticut

  • Record commensurate with appointment as Professor at Yale School of Medicine
