Date Posted: 03/03/2026 DescriptionThe Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, the Interdepartmental Division of Critical Care Medicine, and Unity Health Toronto – St. Michael’s Hospital are seeking applications for a Clinician Scientist in Critical Care Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital. Applicants must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment as an Intensivist at the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The tentative start date is September 1, 2026 (negotiable). Unity Health Toronto hosts one of Canada’s most advanced adult Critical Care programs, bringing world-leading innovation and research to the bedside. The St. Michael’s Medical-Surgical ICU is recognized locally and internationally for care of patients with severe respiratory failure, sepsis, acute inflammatory disorders, and other complex medical conditions. The unit also provides post-operative care for acutely ill surgical patients. The successful candidate will be a nationally and internationally recognized clinician-scientist with an established research program in Critical Care, a strong track record of research activity and success, and expertise in acute lung injury, ARDS, mechanical ventilation, sepsis, multi-organ failure, and other critical care domains including neurologic, cardiac, and trauma care.
