Position Overview

The Department of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences invites applications for two tenure-track positions in Cognitive Psychology. Candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in their area of expertise and contribute to the department’s growing interdisciplinary collaborations with STEM disciplines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to the candidate’s area of expertise.

  • Advise undergraduate psychology majors and/or graduate students (master’s and doctoral).

  • Maintain an active research program and contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives.

  • Participate in departmental service and mentoring activities.


Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate in a psychology subfield (specialization in Cognitive Psychology) by time of hire; ABDs are encouraged to apply.

  • Ability to teach courses in research and expertise areas.

  • Research-active with evidence of scholarly achievement.

  • Commitment to advancing understanding of cultural and individual diversity.

  • 12 full-time faculty, with strengths in cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience.

  • Offers BA in Psychology, MA degrees in Counseling/Counseling Psychology and I-O Psychology, PhDs in Counseling Psychology (APA-accredited) and I-O Psychology.

  • New MS program in Cognitive Psychology planned for Fall 2026.

  • Provides experiential training through the Psychological Services Clinic and I-O consulting group (AROS).
