About the Role

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and the Forensic Psychiatry Division of CAMH’s Complex Care and Recovery Program invite applications for a Forensic Psychiatrist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide inpatient and outpatient forensic psychiatric care within CAMH’s Complex Care and Recovery Program.

  • Participate in teaching and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, residents, and fellows.

  • Engage in academic and scholarly activities, with potential for research and professional development.

  • Join a vibrant interdisciplinary team of over 25 psychiatrists within a program that includes inpatient beds, community and correctional services, and specialized clinical programs.


About CAMH and the Forensic Psychiatry Division

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest mental health teaching hospital and a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre. With over 4,000 staff and 11 research centres, CAMH provides innovative care to more than 37,000 patients annually and trains over 13,000 healthcare professionals.

The Forensic Psychiatry Division is a dynamic clinical and academic environment with strong research activity in correctional mental health, sexual behaviors, neurobiology of aggression, and secure recovery.


Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Hold an MD and be certified or eligible for certification in Psychiatry by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

  • Be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).

  • Demonstrate exemplary clinical skills, experience in interdisciplinary care, and commitment to patient-centered psychiatry.

  • Qualify for a clinical academic appointment at the University of Toronto (Assistant or Associate Professor rank).


Compensation

Estimated annual remuneration: $300,000 – $400,968, commensurate with academic rank, experience, and qualifications.
