Job Description

An assistant professor in Agricultural Economics must have a Ph.D. or its equivalent from an accredited university, be qualified as an able teacher, and exhibit other qualifications as may be stipulated by the College of Agricultural and Veterinary Medicine An associate professor in Agricultural Economics must be a PhD holder who has written and published original academic research or produced some equivalent form of scholarship while an assistant professor. They should have carried out distinguished activities in teaching, scholarship, and service.

Minimum Qualification

Applicants must have a strong background and expertise in agricultural economics or a related field, such as applied economics. - Educational background: Earned a PhD in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Food Sustainability, or a closely related field at the time of appointment. - Ability to advise undergraduate and graduate students, including directing graduate research. - Publication record: Intensive record of publications in peer-reviewed journals. - Demonstrated ability to produce internal and extramural research funding and - Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and college administrators

Preferred Qualification

- Strong record of teaching, learning, and learning assessment at an internationally accredited institution - Industry experience and established industry partnerships - Competency in contemporary issues and challenges in relationship to agriculture and food supply chain management and food trade at local, regional, and international dimensions - Familiarity with societal, ethical, and environmental sustainability issues as they relate to agriculture and food supply chain management and entrepreneurship - Desirables are candidates with a record of high-quality research and instruction in a student-centered environment, an engaged interest in collaborative learning environments, and an enthusiasm for working in a diverse and multidisciplinary intellectual environment

Excpected Skills

Teach, advise, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. - Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Agriculture Economics, Farm Management, Food Supply Chain Management, Marketing Management, Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods, Applied Econometrics, Food Security and sustainability, Food Policy, & International Trade. - Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of academic endeavors Conduct research and disseminate research outcomes. - Conduct effectively and disseminate research findings nationally and internationally - Seek and secure internal and external funding to support research, teaching, and outreach - Collaborate with other faculty to support the University, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, and Department of Integrative Agriculture's research mission and objectives. - Actively engage in service and outreach to the department, college, and university, as well as to the community in the United Arab Emirates and the profession.
