About the School of Veterinary Science

The UQ School of Veterinary Science is one of the largest and most comprehensive veterinary science groups in the Southern Hemisphere. Our academic and clinical teams contribute to animal health, welfare and production through innovative research, advanced veterinary services, and strong partnerships with industry.

The School delivers:

  • A five-year Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours) degree, globally accredited by the AVBC (Australia/NZ), RCVS (UK), and AVMA (North America).

  • A three-year Bachelor of Veterinary Technology program, recognised nationally and internationally as a leader in the emerging veterinary technology profession.

With over $140 million invested in purpose-built teaching and research facilities at UQ’s Gatton campus, students and researchers benefit from an integrated environment for animal production, health and welfare teaching—set across 1,000 hectares of rural land.
