Description

The Department of Sociology and Council on African Studies at Yale University are looking to hire a full-time tenure-track assistant professor primarily appointed to the sociology department with an appointment beginning July 1, 2025.  We would expect the successful candidate to have a research agenda and teach courses in sociology with an empirical, theoretical, or comparative focus on Africa as well as maintain an active affiliation with the Council on African Studies.

Qualifications

The appointee must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree or have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. by date of hire.
