Position Overview

The Department seeks a specialist in medieval visual arts of the Czech lands and Europe to contribute to teaching, research, and academic service. The role involves supervising students, contributing to publications, and participating in departmental activities.


Responsibilities

  • Teach Bachelor’s, Master’s, and potentially doctoral courses, including lifelong learning programs.
  • Supervise, consult, and review theses.
  • Participate in departmental organization and course administration (e-learning, MU IS).
  • Conduct independent research in medieval visual arts and publish in peer-reviewed journals or monographs.
  • Present research at domestic and international conferences.
  • Support departmental promotion and student internships abroad.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Art History – required
  • Ph.D. in Art History – required
  • Specialization in medieval visual arts in the Czech lands and Europe – required
  • Experience in international teamwork and professional international activity (grants, conferences, teaching, publications)
  • Knowledge of English (C2) and Czech (excellent written and spoken)
  • High-level knowledge of at least one other language: German, French, or Italian

Preferred / Advantageous Skills:

  • Experience in university teaching or academic environment
  • Presentation, mentoring, and networking skills
