DescriptionThe Yale Center for Brain and Mind Health (CBMH) seeks to hire new faculty at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level with a research focus in artificial intelligence applied to brain and mind science. The CBMH’s broad mission is to apply clinical and translational neuroscience to directly improve the quality of life for individuals with conditions affecting the mind and brain. We are particularly interested in candidates who develop and apply AI methodologies within the context of clinically relevant neuroscience problems. Candidates may integrate approaches such as:
Promising applicants may work in any one area of clinically relevant application (e.g., genetics, brain imaging, neurodegeneration, development) or across multiple areas. They will be motivated toward generating impactful work that can improve human health, in the context of a team science approach. Successful candidates will be embedded in the richly collaborative CBMH environment that supports intellectual creativity and in the Department of Biomedical Informatics & Data Science (BIDS). About CBMHThe CBMH is a new interdepartmental Center at the Yale School of Medicine that collaborates with clinical and basic science departments across the University to foster innovative work in the neurosciences. The unique design of the CBMH leadership—five individuals from different departments with diverse backgrounds and interests—embodies a core CBMH principle: creating a scientific community where the sum is greater than each individual part. CBMH recognizes that the full potential of research lies in the power that diverse perspectives bring to the field. We foster an environment where individuals of any race, gender, identity, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic class, sexual orientation, and geographical background feel supported and empowered to push forward the frontiers of clinically relevant neuroscience research based on the principles of inclusivity, equity, and belonging. We strongly encourage applicants from historically marginalized backgrounds to apply. Additional Highlights
