Description:
The Lee Lab at USC’s Leonard Davis School of Gerontology invites applications for a Research Assistant Professor of Gerontology. The lab studies molecular mechanisms driving aging and age-related diseases, with focus on mitochondrial biology and metabolic regulation, including mitochondrial-encoded peptides and their role in Alzheimer’s, metabolic syndrome, and chronic inflammation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in vitro and in vivo studies on mitochondrial and metabolic regulation of aging and age-related diseases.

  • Collaborate with lab members and external research partners.

  • Author and co-author peer-reviewed scientific publications.

  • Prepare and submit grant applications as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, cell biology, or related field.

  • Demonstrated record of publication in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Hands-on experience with both cell culture systems and mouse models.

Work Requirements:

  • Full-time, on-campus at the Andrus Gerontology Center (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM).

  • Some after-hours and weekend work may be required.

  • Travel for conferences and training as needed.
