The successful candidate will be an Earth scientist specializing in active tectonic processes examined through airborne or orbital remote sensing. Applicants whose research uses remote-sensing–based approaches to study ongoing tectonic processes—such as earthquakes, volcanoes, crustal deformation, plate boundary processes, and natural hazards—are particularly encouraged to apply. Relevant remote-sensing tools include (but are not limited to): InSAR GNSS Gravity measurements Lidar Imaging spectroscopy Imaging / stereo-imaging Qualifications Ph.D. in Earth Sciences or a related field, completed by the start of employment. Demonstrated potential to establish a strong, independent research program. Demonstrated potential for effective teaching and student mentorship at undergraduate and graduate levels. Ability to interact with and complement strengths of the Geology & Geophysics research group.
