This position supports multiple research studies in the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) Division of OBGYN, conducted by multiple investigators. Duties include screening participants, obtaining consent, conducting study visits, maintaining documentation, and handling research specimens. The position may also assist with regulatory tasks under the Assistant Research Practice Manager.

You will work alongside research staff, clinic staff and providers, surgeons, OR staff, and hospital staff. This position is 100% on-site.


Minimum Requirements

Education/Training:
Completion of an Associate’s Degree.

Experience:
Minimum of two years of relevant research experience.
A Bachelor’s degree may substitute for the required experience.

Operations

  • Knowledgeable in regulatory and institutional policies and processes; applies them in study documentation, protocol submissions, and SOPs.

  • Manages all aspects of Investigational Product (IP) including arrival, storage, tracking, and provision.

  • Serves as liaison with sponsors, IDS, and other parties as needed.

  • Prepares for and supports study monitoring and audit visits.

  • Maintains participant-level documentation and employs strategies for recruitment and retention.

  • Screens and enrolls participants in complex procedural and interventional studies.

  • Collects, processes, and ships biological specimens.

  • Participates in study visits and team meetings.

Ethics

  • Identifies and reports Adverse Events (AEs) in collaboration with the PI.

  • Conducts and documents informed consent.

  • Develops and submits IRB documentation using iRIS.

  • Prepares safety and regulatory reports for sponsors and agencies.

Data

  • Develops data collection SOPs and tools.

  • Enters and verifies data accuracy.

  • Recognizes data trends and assists with data quality assurance.

  • Uses technology for data security and research process enhancement.

  • Prepares reports and visual summaries for the PI and collaborators.

Science

  • Demonstrates understanding of research study design.

  • Contributes to scientific publications or presentations (non-authorship level).

Study and Site Management

  • Coordinates site visits and communications with sponsors/CROs.

  • Uses clinical research management systems, including OnCore and eREG.

  • Ensures compliance with institutional requirements and prepares studies for closeout and document storage.

Leadership

  • Pursues skill development and certifications.

  • Participates in committees and workgroups within and beyond Duke.

  • Demonstrates resilience, adaptability, and collaboration.

  • Uses subject matter expertise to support multiple study teams.

Anticipated Pay Range

Annual base salary: USD $59,829.00 – $99,960.00
Salary is based on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, internal equity, and market considerations.

Total compensation includes competitive medical, dental, and retirement benefits, plus a wide range of wellness and work-life programs.
