Position Description

The School of Information Technology Management at the Ted Rogers School of Management, Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), invites applications for the Loretta Rogers Research Chair in Cybersecurity Analytics at the rank of Associate Professor, effective July 1, 2026, subject to final budgetary approval.

This Chair, established in 2007 through a significant leadership gift from the Rogers family, aims to attract outstanding scholars to advance and enrich innovative and societally relevant research and learning experiences at TRSM.

The successful candidate will:

  • Engage in teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise students, and contribute to curriculum development

  • Pursue a strong, innovative, and internationally recognized research program that is externally funded

  • Conduct research in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, machine learning, analytics, and related fields

  • Integrate research into impactful applications for industry, policy, and society


Qualifications

Candidates must:

  • Hold a doctoral degree in Information Systems or a closely related field

  • Hold a tenured position at a recognized institution at the Associate Professor rank by the appointment date

  • Demonstrate expertise in cybersecurity research or other relevant areas (business analytics, AI)

  • Have an internationally recognized research profile with evidence of peer-reviewed contributions in high-quality outlets

  • Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain an independent, externally funded research program

  • Have experience in research collaborations and the ability to attract industrial/community partnerships

  • Show a track record of developing and mentoring trainees and students

  • Demonstrate teaching excellence at undergraduate and graduate levels, including course development

  • Commit to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in service, teaching, and scholarly activities

  • Contribute to the life of the School and University through collegial service

Salary and Terms

  • The position falls under the Toronto Metropolitan Faculty Association (TFA)

  • Minimum salary: $131,194.32 per annum (Associate Professor rank)

  • Salary commensurate with qualifications
