DescriptionThe Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Full Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Structural Biology, and Molecular Biology. We seek a visionary leader with a strong record of scientific achievement, proven leadership experience at the center or institute level with evidence of strong fiscal stewardship and prior success with fundraising and development, to direct CNDR and guide its continued growth and impact. The Director of CNDR will be responsible for setting strategic priorities, fostering collaborative research, and ensuring continued excellence in funding, publication, and translational outcomes. This role includes oversight of CNDR’s faculty, research staff, laboratory operations, and key collaborative initiatives within the Perelman School of Medicine and with external partners. Applicants must have an M.D./Ph.D or equivalent degree. Teaching responsibilities may include supervising graduate students, teaching one or two lectures on neurodegenerative diseases. Research or scholarship responsibilities may include obtaining research grants from the NIH, other non-profit organizations, supervise graduate students, postdoctoral and research fellows, research in neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, frontotemporal degeneration with tau pathology (FTLD-tau) and with TDP-43 pathology (FTLD-TDP), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
